Versastyle Dance Competition challenges dancers to rise beyond expectations by experiencing the wonders of fair and authentic competition, exploring diverse dance styles and gaining exposure to industry professional opportunities.
We are adding immense value to your experience by providing these carefully constructed features that are unique to our comp.

Versastyle Dance Competition challenges dancers in new ways, but we also make sure to have everything you expect from a dance competition, including the fun, games and good vibes! Sean is the key to creating that atmosphere and if you’ve been to an event with him before, you know what to expect. Sean has worked dance competition for years and excited to work join Versastyle!
Unique Features
FEATURE 1 - New CATEGORY
Provided Group Choreography
Every eligible studio is provided with unique and challenging professional choreography to use in our special REMIX category. Give 5-7 of your competitive or elite dancers the honour of performing in this special category and represent their studio. You are encouraged to remix the choreography by adding creativity and customizing the formations.
You will be provided the choreography and have time to be ready to perform it on the VERSASTYLE stage.

FEATURE 2 - Freestyle or Self-Choreo
New Solo & Duo Challenge
This is a special category designed to push the boundaries of solo and duo VERSASTYLE dancers. During a scheduled time, dancers will come on stage to spin the music wheel. They will get time to listen to the music in order to prepare themselves for their performance. Top scores return to perform to a new song and style in a final showdown to find our IMPULSE champions.
- Dancers are encouraged to freestyle and self-choreograph
- Music wheel contains songs pre-selected by our directors
- Small set pieces are permitted
- Dancers are separated into brackets randomly
FEATURE 3 - PAID SHOWCASE
Selected Dancers Get Paid to Perform
Every eligible studio is provided with choreography to perform in our special VERSASTYLE Unity Show. This is a large showcase with different sections that mix your selected intermediate /sr. dancers with dancers from different studios to be performed during the VERSASTYLE competition. It’s a great opportunity for students to meet other dancers from different studios, perform on stage like it’s a full theatrical production and experience what it’s like to be paid like a professional!
- Studio selects their 4-7 representatives
- Proceeds from ticket sales go to the dancers
- One rehearsal with all other studios
FEATURE 4 - Battle
Watch Professional Dancers Battle
Professional dancers are invited to compete in an all-styles battle to kick off/close out each of our competitions. Studios are invited to attend, watch and cheer on their favourite professional dancers. Not only is it a great way to network and meet industry professional dancers, but it is also a great opportunity to see authentic battles and be inspired.
- Professional elimination all-styles battle with invited professionals
- DJ and MC host event
- Unity performance during intermission
- Free Workshop (if time permits)
- Q&A (if time permits)
FEATURE 5 - Dance Again
Ultimate Studio Showdown
OVERTIME is a unique spin on the DANCE AGAIN showcase that you’ve seen at other competitions. Studios choose
one routine to rep their studio ahead of time. However, there are also FOUR WILDCARD slots that our emcee and judges may choose to invite to represent as well. Will you studio get more than one representative in OVERTIME?
- Defending Title – Winners receive an invitation and free entry to return to defend their title
- Cash Prize and Banner – Receive the cash prize or twice the value in VSDC credits
- Transformation Prize – One routine will also be selected as the routine that applied the judges notes the best
Real Incentive
Prizes That You Will Use
We set ourselves apart from other competitions by offering exciting unique incentives. In addition to all the expected stylized awards, placements, judges’ choice, overalls and grand awards. We also have VERSASTYLE exclusive awards.
- Defending Title – Top genre recipients receive an invitation and free entry to return to defend their title
- Cash Prizes – Receive the cash prize or twice the value in VSDC credits
- Judges’ Stand Out Routine – The selected routine’s studio receives three free group entries for next season
- Professional work – Selected dancers will receive paid photo/video work opportunities and selected choreographers will receive a paid invitation to choreograph for Versastyle next season
- VERSASTYLE CHAMPS – Top studio across our entire tour, gets their name etched onto the trophy that will be displayed at their studio until next season
